How to Energetically Release Someone You Still Think About (Without Needing Them to Do Anything)
Here's the trap: you're waiting for something from them. An apology. An explanation. A version of the ending where you weren't the one who got hurt. And because it never comes, the door never closes.
Energetic release doesn't need them. It happens entirely in your field. That's the whole point.
Before you begin
Pick one person. Not the whole list — one. Choose a quiet twenty minutes when you won't be interrupted, and have water nearby. If this person hurt you badly, consider doing this with a therapist's support alongside; the practice is gentle, but what it stirs can be big.
A simple release practice (all-faith)
- Ground. Sit with both feet flat. Breathe out longer than you breathe in, five times. Feel the weight of your body on the chair.
- Find where they live in you. Think of them and notice where your body responds — chest, stomach, throat, behind the eyes. That's the attachment point. Put a hand there.
- Say what's true. Out loud, quietly: "This is where I've been holding you." No speech, no story. Just the fact.
- Return what's theirs. Picture everything of theirs you've been carrying — their fear, their anger, their expectations, their unfinished business — gathering under your hand. Then: "This is yours. I'm giving it back." Imagine it leaving, in whatever form your faith or imagination gives you: light, water, a letter, a prayer.
- Call back what's yours. Now the other direction. "Whatever of mine is still with you, I take back now." Breathe in. Feel your hand warm.
- Close the place. This is the step everyone skips. Picture the spot under your hand sealing — a door closing, a wound knitting, light filling the gap. "This is closed. What was between us is complete."
- Drink water, and don't analyse it. Go for a walk, wash your hands and face. Let the next day or two be quiet.
What to expect afterwards
Tiredness the same evening is normal. So is a wave of emotion a day later — sadness, relief, sometimes anger you'd been too tired to feel. What you're looking for over the following week: they come to mind less, and when they do, the body doesn't lurch. For more on the after-feeling, read Is Energetic Release Safe? When the home version isn't enough
Three situations where you'll want help:
- It comes back within days. The cord re-formed, which usually means the attachment point wasn't fully closed, or there's an older cord underneath it feeding the new one.
- You can't find where it lives in you. Some cords attach in places you've gone numb to. You need someone who can read the field.
- It's several people, or decades old. A parent cord or a childhood friendship can be layered under everything since.
That's what the Energetic Release Membership ($29.99/month) is for: Steanie reads your field remotely, finds the cords including the ones you can't feel, releases them and closes the attachment points — and sends you a written report of who and what was released. Because it's monthly, the ones that try to re-form get caught early. If you'd rather know first how many cords you're carrying and where, the $65 Energy Check-Up reads that too.
