How to Choose an Energy Healer: 8 Questions to Ask Before You Book (and 5 Red Flags)
Energy healing isn't regulated. Anyone can print a card. That's not a reason to avoid it — it's a reason to choose carefully. Here's the checklist we'd want a family member to use, including on us.
8 questions to ask any energy healer
- "Who actually performs the session?" You want a named person, not a rotating team or an app. At EnlightMeCenter: Steanie, the founder, performs every session and writes every report herself.
- "Will I get anything in writing?" A verbal "you're much lighter now" is worth very little a week later. Every session here comes with a personalized written report within 48 hours, kept in your private client portal.
- "Do I need to believe anything?" A good practitioner works with your faith, not against it. EnlightMeCenter is all-faith and does not practise witchcraft or occult work.
- "Is this a replacement for my doctor or therapist?" The only acceptable answer is no. Ours is no. Energy work sits beside medical and mental health care.
- "What's the smallest thing I can book first?" Trustworthy practitioners let you start small. The $65 Energy Check-Up is our starting point for almost everyone.
- "What do you charge, and what's the cancellation policy?" Prices and terms should be on the page, not revealed on a call. Full price is listed on every service; full payment at booking; sessions are non-refundable once delivered; a $60 fee applies to cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice.
- "Do you work with men?" You'd be surprised how many pages quietly assume otherwise. Yes — men and women, and nothing here requires you to talk it out first (Energy Healing for Men).
- "What happens if the reading finds nothing serious?" The honest answer should be "then I'll tell you that." Our report says what you don't need as clearly as what you do.
5 red flags to walk away from
- Fear-based selling — "a curse," "you'll get worse," "only I can fix this."
- Guaranteed healing or promises about outcomes. No one can promise that.
- Pressure to buy a big package before any first session.
- Being told to stop medication or therapy. Leave immediately.
- No written record, no policies, no real name, no way to contact them afterwards.
Remote or in person?
In-person has its place, but remote work removes travel, cost and the "performance" of lying on a table in front of a stranger. If you're unsure whether distance affects results, Does Distance Energy Healing Actually Work? gives you the honest version, including the limits of the evidence.
What a good first session looks like
It's small, it's cheap enough to risk, it reads your whole system rather than a single symptom, and it leaves you with something you can re-read. For us that's the Complete Energy Check-Up + Full Intuitive Reading: $65, remote, aura and all seven chakras, written report within 48 hours. Read What Is an Energy Check-Up? for exactly what it includes — then ask us the eight questions above. We'll answer every one.
Put us to the test
Book the $65 Energy Check-Up. If the written report doesn't tell you something true and useful about where your energy is stuck, you'll know we're not the right fit — and you'll have risked very little to find out.
