What Does a Chakra Assessment Show? The 7 Centres, What "Blocked" Means, and a Sample Reading
"My throat chakra is blocked." People say it the way they'd say "my back hurts." But what does a chakra assessment actually show — and how does it turn into something you can use?
First, the four states a chakra can be in
A chakra isn't simply on or off. In a proper assessment each centre is read for its state:
- Open and balanced — energy moves in and out freely. You feel like yourself in that area of life.
- Blocked — energy is stuck, usually around an emotion that was never fully felt. This is the most common result.
- Overactive — too much energy with no outlet. Think racing thoughts (crown/third eye), over-talking (throat) or constant caretaking (heart).
- Depleted — the centre is open but running on empty. Common after long seasons of giving.
What each centre tells you
- Root — safety, money, home, belonging. Blocked: anxiety that lives in the body, trouble resting, survival mode.
- Sacral — emotion, pleasure, creativity, relationships. Blocked: numbness, guilt, a flat creative life.
- Solar plexus — personal power, boundaries, confidence. Blocked: people-pleasing, shame, "I can't say no."
- Heart — love, grief, connection. Blocked: a wall you can feel but not name (What Is a Heart Wall?).
- Throat — truth, expression. Blocked: swallowing words, tight jaw, saying "I'm fine."
- Third eye — intuition, clarity. Blocked: brain fog, second-guessing yourself.
- Crown — meaning, connection to something larger. Blocked: emptiness, "what's the point."
If several of these sound like you at once, read Signs Your Chakras Are Blocked (and How to Tell Which One) before you self-diagnose — overlapping symptoms are exactly why a reading beats a quiz.
A sample reading (what the report looks like)
Here's the shape of a typical result from the Complete Energy Check-Up, with details changed:
Root: depleted. Long stretch of carrying financial responsibility for others; body has not felt safe to rest.
Sacral: balanced.
Solar plexus: blocked — strongest block in the system. Pattern of saying yes when the answer was no; shame around a decision made in your late twenties.
Heart: partially walled; grief that was "handled" rather than felt.
Throat: overactive — talking around the thing rather than about it.
Third eye / crown: open, slightly dimmed by exhaustion.
Aura: heavy on the left side; absorbed energy from a workplace.
Next step: Grounding + Energy Healing first; revisit heart work after 3–4 weeks.
Notice what the assessment does: it doesn't just label a chakra. It connects the state to a story and gives an order of operations. That's the difference between an assessment and an intuitive reading combined — the Check-Up includes both (see What Is an Intuitive Reading?).
What a chakra assessment can't do
It can't diagnose or treat a medical or mental health condition, and it shouldn't be used to delay care you need. Energy work sits alongside good medical care, never in place of it.
After the assessment
Most people need one or two things, not seven. If the reading shows a single stuck centre, a targeted session such as Full Chakra Balancing clears it. If it shows a pattern across several, the written report will say so and point you to the right starting place. Want to understand how the aura part fits in? Read Aura Reading vs Chakra Reading.
Find out which centre is actually blocked
Stop guessing from symptom lists. The $65 Complete Energy Check-Up reads all seven chakras and your aura, explains what's sitting in each one and why, and tells you where to start — in a written report you keep.
